UIUC Enrollment / housing : Costs, and What is non refundable?

Here are a few questions on enrollment and housing that I could not find on the UIUC website (it is probably there, butI cd not find it):

To secure UIUC (or private certified) housing does an admitted student need to enroll at UIUC ("committ to UIUC")?

What is the cost of committing to UIUC? Is this refundable if for whatever reason you do not decide to go to UIUC ?

Is there a cost associated with securing housing - UIUC dorms or private certified housing? Is it refundable?

yes, they ask you to give them 2 business days after accepting the offer of acceptance before applying for housing. private housing, depends.

no cost to commit, but depending on when you decide to withdraw, you may have to pay a percentage of tuition & fees: [U</a> of I Records: Fall 2010 Withdrawal](http://www.registrar.illinois.edu/financial/withdraw_FALL.html)

$200; $50 application fee (non-refundable) & $150 advanced payment, refundable if contract is canceled before may 15. this is for university housing. private housing would have their own rules.

You can apply for UIUC resdence halls only after you have accepted offer to admit.

You can apply for private certified housing before accepting offer to admit. In fact order of receipt of applications for each PCH is the order in which they offer residency in them and thus later applications can sometimes result in no offers. Each PCH has its own application and deposit rules and you need to check each carefully to see what the penalty is for later withdrawing your application.
