UIUC Fall Transfer 2019

Update… made it into College of Business accountancy major on 3/1. Good luck to you all!

@batgrill Congrats!! I applied to exactly the same major. Would you be comfortable sharing your stats with me?

@RatingAgency13 Did you give a reason in your application for not having the microeconomics course? If you’re comfortable sharing, what was it? I applied CS + Economics but I’m missing a macro course since my current school doesn’t let freshmen take macro. I’m nervous that I’ll get rejected for the same reason.

I’m applying to CS + Econ major from a private university overseas. I’m an Illinois resident.
Credits: 36
GPA: 3.9
Extracurriculars: economics research assistant, comp sci club

Got my acceptance decision on Thursday! I’ll officially be an Environmental Science & Natural Resources major fall of 2019. :)>-

Hey everyone,
I applied to UIUC but I’m worried I won’t get in. (I applied last year during HS and got in. Unfortunately, I did not attend bc my award letter sucked.) I ended up going to UIC but I don’t really like the school. I’m worried I won’t get bc I don’t fulfill all of the requirements due to the fact that I have only completed one semester. I have a valid reason for why I did not return to UIC but not sure if that is enough. I wasn’t even planning on transferring until my Junior year but due to unforeseen circumstances, I have to change my plans. Can someone help me or give me advice to increase my chances of getting accepted ??

PS: Does anyone know if the Award Letters are good this year? My EFC was $0 last year and my out-of-pocket cost was $11,000 and I’d like to pay like half of that. (IDK ya’ll but ya girl is broke and I need a good award letter.)

Some Info:
College: UIC (was offered to be in Honors college0
Major: Psychology
GPA: 4.0
HS GPA: 3.6/3.7 (not sure I forgot) (Also took 3 AP classes and 1 honor)
Credits: 21

Hello!!
I applied for mechanical engineering major with mathematics being my second major. I am unsure if I really have a chance because my cumulative GPA is a 3.4. The thing is, the reason my GPA is so low is because of classes I took my sophomore year of high school (they were college credit classes taken in a high school setting). Currently, during my actual time in college, I have a 3.8. Another thing that I think could possibly give me a better chance is that I achieved that gpa all in one year, I met all the prerequisites and will be a junior once I transfer. I also was working around 30 hours a week during this past year. I’m also out of state.
I am not sure how much UIUC really cares about all that.

My high school GPA was a 3.1

All info laid out:
College GPA: 3.8
Cumulative GPA: 3.4
HS GPA: 3.1
Credits: 90 quarter credits upon transfer (55 during application)

I think my essay was really good and I when I explained to admissions that I was only in college for one year they said that I could list my high school extracurricular activities so I also have a lot of those as well as achievements within them.

Some are:
Track & Cross country captain
Track (team) State Champion
Science Olympiad: 2nd regional, 4th state

What do you all think? Do I have a chance at either mechanical or mathematics?

Just got accepted into molecular and cellular biology today!

Congrats! Is that your first selected major or your alter major?

Has anyone accepted into their alter major?

Thanks!! and it was my frist choice

I applied before Feb 1st, and I am still waiting. It’s getting anxious

I sent them an email about when I should hear back and they said within the next couple of weeks -.- (Gee, thanks that will help me feel less anxious)

Does anyone have any clue as to if getting deferred is a good or bad sign? They said they just want to see my spring semester grades since I’m still a freshmen. Any tips to increase my chances of getting accepted besides obviously getting good grades this semester??

Has any got decision from COE?

I applied Feb 1st and got into CS + Math around early March.

Just found out I got into College of Arts and Science

Does anyone know if we get a mailed package if we are accepted? I’m just curious if I will get a mailed package.

You do get a mailed package. Originally applied for cs + advertising, but got in for my second choice which was undecided. Is anybody going to appeal?

I just found out I got into my second choice major which was Mathematics! My stats are not the greatest so I’m happy either way. I also lowkey wanted to do mathematics over engineering so that’s also a plus since I want to become a math teacher!
