UIUC or Berkeley for Computer Science?

Hello,
I am deciding on what colleges to apply to! I know I want to apply to both of these school specifically for computer science. Which one is better for me if I get accepted. In terms of future outlook. Like, I want to go to the one that gives me a higher salary job or gives me a better chance of receiving one. I live in illinois, so in state tuition for the win!

You answered your own question: UIUC with in-state tuition. Berkeley gives virtually no financial aid for OOS.

Apply to both and see what happens. There is no reason you need to decide now. But as a general rule, I’d go with the in-state options, especially since it is a strong program.

UIUC in-state makes a lot more sense - unless you win a scholarship at Berkeley.

UIUC at in-state price is normally the choice.

However, be sure to have more backup options. UIUC CS is much more competitive for admission than the school overall. UIUC may admit CS applicants to an alternate major or as undeclared, but it will be very competitive to get into the CS major after enrolling (the (math or stats)/CS and CS+X majors are not quite as competitive, but still require high GPAs to get into).
