My son has admit offers from UIUC and HKUST to study Computer Science. Although HKUST is rated higher in QS and Times ratings, UIUC has a formidable history and reputation. Any suggestions on what he should opt for?
Are you from US or international? UIUC Computer Science is very reputable. HKUST is one of the youngest school with rapid growing in ranking. Nevertheless, the two schools are very different in many aspects. HKUST is much smaller in size but it does have a nice ocean view on hill slope. UIUC has a beautiful engineering campus and you may have more chances for internships.
International. Can you help outline the benefits.? We are in India. Affordability is not the issue. What would help his career better.
Both schools are good for CS. If he eventually wants to work in the US, an international with a degree from a US university will have an easier time finding a job than an international with a degree from a non-US university.
