Hi folks,
I was recently admitted to UIUC and UMTC for economics as a transfer student, however as happy as I am to be admitted into both schools, I am having a very difficult time choosing between the two. On the one hand, UMTC has a very highly regarded economics program (#11 overall) which undoubtedly has its advantages , but on the other hand, UIUC also appears to have a well respected economic program that has the upswing of having immediate connections to nearby Chicago businesses. This is where the heart of the indecision lies. Would I be better off attending the school with a higher ranked econ program, or would I benefit more from attending a school of a higher overall rank with a larger pool of connections?
Money-wise, because I get instate tuition for UIUC and UMTC is relatively cheap, the cost of attendance for both schools is essentially the same. Any advice on the matter or anecdotal experience with either school is greatly appreciated!
