<p>How does Univ of Wisconsin compare with the other top universities out there? I included it in my original list, but since I got into UIUC I removed it. How does it compare to UIUC specifically? Should I still apply there?

<p>What is UIUC? Secondly, I live in Wisconsin and I know many very smart kids that go to Wisconsin every year. In fact, half the time our valedictorian ends up their with a full scholarship. It is a very good school that is well reputed across the country, but particularily in the Midwest.</p>
<p>Maybe University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign? Haha I think I just figured that out. Anyways, Wisconsin is better but if you are in Illinois it is not enough better to make up for the tuition difference, if that made any sense.</p>

Doesnt the USNews rank the engineering program of UIUC higher than that of Wisconsin? Oh, and I forgot to mention, I'm an international student.</p>

<p>UW is probably better in more programs than UIUC, but UIUC is awesome in computer science!</p>

<p>The Illinois engineering program is one of the best in the country. No doubt. However, Wisconsin is ranked 11th overall, which is nothing to sneeze at. As for EE... not sure</p>

<p>lol.. Then if ur gonna major in EE/CS UIUC is clearly stronger in your intended major/s than Wisoncin.</p>
<p>There is a thread under UIUC: "Social Life in U. Illinois" that compares UIUC to Wisconsin, with strong reccomendations of UW for social and aestetic reasons.</p>
<p>While a difference between 4 or 5 vs 14 or 15 is "stronger" than one another, it is not a clear, overwhelming difference. At a point a little bit or ranking becomes less of an issue than if you enjoy the school, the cost, etc</p>
