UIUC Rescinition policy for engineering school

Hey guys I got accepted to Computer Engineering for UIUC this year and I was wondering on what grounds they rescind you on. I’ve always maintained about a 3.83 UW GPA (4.2 Weighted) and this year my current grades are

AP Physics C E/M: A (94)
AP US Gov: A (92) about to go up
AP Calc BC: B (86) about to go up, expecting an A
AP Literature: D+ (69) teacher is a horse’s patootie, I’m pretty sure i can bring to at least a C+ by the end of the semester
Spanish 4: B (82) can go up, definitely not gonna go down

and i’m out of state.

Will UIUC rescind me based on the D+. I’m pretty sure I can get it to raise but just in case i want to know my options. am i likely to get rescinded based on english? I already have a 5 from my AP test in AP Language and a 34 on the english section of the ACT so its not like I dont know english.

What conditions of admission did your admission offer say?

In any case, a D grade is bad news.

UIUC just mentions a steep fall in grades means that I have to explain my grades.

Similar situation happened to a friend of mine (we’re both currently students at UIUC). She ended up with a D in a class not related to her major. She explained it essentially as “the teacher was awful and I hated the class” and it was fine. You should be fine.

But you should obviously try to get your grade as high as possible anyway.

You’re fine.

even if it is engineering? @Balthezar
