Shubhamargie, your stats were good enough for UIUC, but not quite strong enough to their very-competitive computer science program (one of the top 7 in the country). So sign up if this is your dream school, take some math and science classes the first semester, work to get straight As, then use your high proven GPA to transfer into the College of Engineering.

I got in too. :)

LoremIpsum,
what other schools did your son apply to?

MIT, Yale, Brown, Rice and a couple of the top liberal arts colleges. He’s got competitive stats for even the best schools (perfect 36.0 ACT, SAT II 800’s in physics and math II, class rank of 1/400), but the acceptance process is highly unpredictable these days for such schools.

Congrats on getting in, by the way. It could be I’ve gotten too cynical reading CC for a year.

I wish your son the best of luck. :)

And I understand. CC is full of crazy academic superstars.

I’d love if you could have a look at my thread.

You got in! That’s great! Congratulations! (:

I was right, after all. (:

Thanks HafsaRox!! Did you apply there as well?
