UIUC Transfers for Fall 2015

Checked my app today and saw that it said it was missing an item, my act. It didn’t send properly so now I have to resend it and I’ll have to wait till the end of march (hopefully) to hear back. Do you think this will hurt my chances?

Oh that sucks. I doubt it will hurt your chances. They know that the college admissions process is hectic. I just checked mine. Still nothing.

Hi, this is my first post on CC.

I am applying for Civil Engineering. I am currently in a NY community college.

GPA: 3.96
35 credits completed, 13 more in progress

Completed major courses: Calculus I and II

In progress major courses: Calculus III, Calc-based Physics I, Chem I

I also just submotted a course change form saying that I plan to take Chem II and English Comp II, which would satisfy all sophomore recommendes prerequisites.

I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa.

Am I leaning more towards an acceptance or a rejection?

Also, do things like course change forms and syllabus uploads after the deadline void your priority status?

I think course change and syllabus uploads should not void the priority status. UIUC asked me to upload 5 of my previous classes’ syllabus after I submitted my application before the priority deadline!

Hi guys, I submitted my Fall 2015 school of education transfer application around Jan 16th and still hasn’t heard anything yet. UIUC contacted me 2 times about several previous classes’ syllabus but there is no decision posted on my App yet. So nervous now :frowning:
I am special needs education major with California community college 3.56 gpa. I retake 2 non-major classes and got “A” in the second time. 130 hours of special needs classroom teacher aid experience in SoCal. A lots of hours Chinese tutoring hours since I was born in China then moved to SoCal 5 years ago. I don’t think UIUC education school should be really competitive but I am afraid my two retake will really hurt my chance :frowning:
Any thoughts on that?
Good luck to all!!!

Been following this thread for sometime, so I thought I would update you guys. Got my acceptance through the myillini portal today. Applied for CompSci/Stats, sophomore status, in the college of LAS.

High School - 3.0 gpa, 32 ACT, Eagle Scout, Officer for 3 different clubs

College - 2 semesters (including the current one) at a small private top 100 national university, 3.83 gpa, essay was average at best

good luck to the rest of you guys!

Congrats on your acceptance!

You received it today? Interesting. I assumed that acceptance decisions wouldn’t come out over the weekend at all.

I still haven’t heard anything. Hopefully this week.

Yeah. I didn’t expect it to come on a Sunday either. But I’ve been checking it once a day so I’m sure it was updated yesterday.

Interesting. I’ll have to start checking more over the weekend now…lol

Hopefully it’ll come this week though. My wait has gotten a little bit easier, because I just got accepted for a Department of Energy internship at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. Seeing that helped quite a bit

Chances?
3.55 cumulative GPA @ 51 hrs- Belmont University and Houston Community Community College

@CH3M4LIF3‌
Would you mind posting your stats? And congratulations

Just got denied for Civil Engineering.

Applied as a sophomore with a 3.96 GPA after 48 credits and all prereqs. I’ve read that they rarely accept anyone but juniors if you’re out of state but I didn’t think I’d get rejected with those stats. Oh well

For engineering and physics they tend to reject almost all sophomore transfers. I applied last year to the specialized physics curriculum as a sophomore transfer. I had a 4.0, a ton of honors credits, and exactly 60 credits earned, +21 credits in progress that semester. I was denied basically on a technicality. I had too many credits to qualify as a sophomore transfer, and I needed to finish the calculus and physics sequences to qualify as a junior transfer in that major.

Now I’ve applied again for the same major. I’ll have 103 credits earned after this semester. My GPA dipped to 3.93, which is still great. Haven’t heard back yet, but I feel really good about my chances. Keep your stats up and apply as a junior next year, and you’ll have a really good chance of getting accepted.

@comfortablycurt‌ thanks for the info, and good luck on your admission, it looks like you’ve got it this time. I’m gonna be going to either OSU or Austin now so unfortunately I wont be joining you in UIUC if you get in

I see. Well good luck with whatever you choose.

A friend of mine got his acceptance into Chemical Engineering at UIUC today. Still no word on my end though. The kicker here is that he submitted his application about 2-3 weeks ago at most. And here I’ve been waiting since September…ugh…lol

@comfortablycurt, for what major did you apply?

EDIT: Never mind, I read up. Good luck! I applied a few weeks ago to the business program.

Good luck to you too!

I’m starting to think it’s really not going to be until mid April.

This is my first time stumbling upon this forum so I just wanted to say I applied for junior transfer and received my decision on 3/5 (around 1:30 AM on myIllini, received “you have decision” email the following morning at 11 AM)

Accepted to College of Engineering
Major: Electrical Engineering
College GPA: 3.91
HS GPA: 3.7
SAT: 2100
Credits: 66
Submitted on 1/28 (priority deadline)
OOS

Nice! Congrats! Sounds like a lot of the engineering decisions have already come out.
