I volunteer at the public library. I worked at a pharmacy last summer, and am currently a certified pharmacist technician.

Thanks, I really have no idea what my chances are at any of those schools, and any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, are there any decent schools that you think I could get a full scholarship to, because I won't get any/much financial aid, but I also plan to eventually go to graduate school, and I don't want to spend like a hundred thousand dollars on undergraduate school.

For UCSD, I can give you this link, which will be very helpful for you:

http://admissions.ucsd.edu/dev3/info/comreview.html

This states UCSDs criterion for admissions and the points each thing gives. Though as you are OOS, chances are slightly lower than if in state for UCSD and Cal.

I believe that you will get into UCSD because some of my not so qualified friends got in with lower scores.

As for Cal, you are a strong OOS applicant, but since you will be applying to Cal's notorious CoE, it is difficult to determine your chances.

The ACT scores are top notch with a 35 composite, if you have good SAT IIs, especially in Math IIC and Biology since you are an engineer, you have a good shot at Cal.

I also believe as an instate to UIUC and UI-Chicago, you can get into BioE.

As for the rest I have no clue.

Okay--interesting list of schools--and you've obviously done your homework considering you really have picked the cream of the bioengineering university programs. (Other than MIT, I think they are all here).

Ones you can get into for sure:
Purdue
Illinois (Urbana-Champaign)
Illinois (Chicago)
Wisconsin-Madison

Ones I consider you a match for:
Michigan
UCSD
Harvey Mudd
UC Berkeley

Match to Slight Reach
Northwestern

Slight Reach to Reach:
John Hopkins (only because of the program you chose)

Some people may ask how I can rank John Hopkins and Northwestern tougher than UC Berkeley. The reason is because UC Berkeley counts only sophomore and junior grades, whereas John Hopkins and Northwestern will count the freshman grades--and in this case the freshman grades were much worse.

marscity9:

UCB: Slight Reach (out of state, Engineering)
UCSD: Match (out of state, Engineering)

The chances for you to get into all these schools is high. The reasons for this is because your academic record (rank, ACT, and courseload) are very good. You shoot get into JHU, and you have a shot at BME. I recommend working hard on those recommendations and essay, other I would be suprised if you didn't make it. On CC, nothing is garanteed. :0
