UIUC(UIllinois) out of state CHANCES (LAS not engineering)

GPA - like 3.15
SAT-
Math - 700
Reading - 660
Writing - 610
Superscore - 1970

EC's - Very good (MIT-Harvard Math Competition/Captain/High Scorer)
Recs - Amazing. (2 Math Teachers - best one from Calculus teacher)

Intended major - Math/CompSci (the combined major..yes the LAS school offers it)

Do you think I wil get in? Also should I apply early action? This is my number 1 school choice, but i noticed their admissions for early action was significantly worse than regular admission (regular admission = 71% early actions = around 45%)

Thanks for the insight

Why is the GPA so low in relation to the SAT?

completely based on diffcult home circumstances. (for example in my freshman year I had literally straight A+'s across the board, then the next year I had a couple of A's B's a C and a D, the following year all A's and B's, and then the next year basically the same as sopohmore year)

as well, my sat would have been higher if i had had a chance to study for it..other than by using collegeboard.com SAT question of the day..

If it's something explainable via a GC letter, you stand a better chance. Write good essays and have good Recs.

so how do you thik i look when it comes to my chances?

Im not too familiar with Urbana-Champaign but it seems like you have a deep interest in going there, so i think that that will help your chances. And you have a great EC. If you take the SAT again and improve to over 2000, and you apply early, I say it would be a low match.

oh snap i thought it was a reach

Again Im not that familiar with their acceptance rates and such. But if you can get that SAT up, I wouldnt think it would be a reach.

im not gonna be able to take the sat again

UIUC--Reach (GPA is just too low)--average for UIUC is about a 3.55 UW.

the average gpa at american university is a lot higher too but i still got in there..

anyone else what do u think

ok so im either a low match or a reach..great..

meowmeowmeow

can soemone else chance me?

American Univ states that their GPA is around 3.60--but that's a weighted GPA. Their average UW GPA is only around a 3.25 to 3.30

The University of Illinois GPA I gave is an UW one (3.55).

That's why I think you are Slight Reach at Illinois even though you apparently are already accepted at American University.

.3 isnt that big of a difference..and the rest of my transcripts **** on everyone elses..

anyone else wanna chance me?

mmmm. slight reach. out of state might make it a little harder. maybe take the act if you can. they like that better in the midwest.

yeah i cant take any more tests - im applying in september (i took a gap year) and will be working all this year as a Computer Technician - argg slight reach..
