Is it worth going to UofI and risk not getting into business school or just go to IU Kelley instead. I would prefer UofI because of the more comfortable environment, but I know Kelley is a top notch business school, probably even better than UofI's. Any input would be great. Thanks.

Did you not apply to UIUC Business ? or did you get rejected ? I got into UIUC Business but didn’t get into Kelley so I think UIUC’s a better option for me since I’m oos for both. But Kelley is a better option for you in all honesty

I’m not really sure right now either. I applied to U of I as a business major, but instead they put me in undeclared. However, I got direct admit into Kelley, so I guess I’m starting to think Kelley might end up being better for me.

If the question is whether you can easily transfer to business at UIUC if you go there, the answer is that usually less than 50% who apply to transfer into business from the other UIUC colleges after freshman year are accepted, those rejected include many with high grades, and that you were rejected as a freshman is a factor that may be considered against you. In other words, you have some chance of being able to transfer but don’t accept admission on the basis that it is highly probable.

I’m in the same position too (Kelley Direct Admit, UIUC DGS). I’m pretty sure I want to go into business but I feel more comfortable at UofI.

@dero01 @sparkle6365 are you sure you weren’t admitted into business unassigned? thats what i got into

my daughter got accepted to Kelley (finance) UIUC, College of Business (unassigned) and UMD Smith school of Business (finance). Which one has a better reputation and environment? IU gave her a $11,000 global engagement scholarship. We cant file FAFSA so probably no other aid. Maryland is instate. since loan has to be taken out the most important criteria now is the best college. Any advise?
