UIUC versus Illinois State

Any opinions on the pros/cons of each school for someone majoring in actuarial sciences?

Not real familiar with ISU.

Don't go to ISU unless you can't get into UIUC. From what I've heard and what I know, ISU's a pretty crappy experience. I don't know anything about actuarial sciences though.

UIUC is better in actuarial sciences, but frankly, they're both pretty poor in that area. You'd be better off out of state. UIUC is better in basically everything, so go there if you can. Even if ISU gives a full ride, i'd still go to UIUC. ISU is in a nicer town probably, but the academics dont compare.

Thanks for the replies and info. Also looking at Wisconsin, which I have been accepted to. Hard to find good info on other students majoring in actuarial sciences and how happy they are. Thanks again.

Bull

Honestly, there is no comparison between UIUC and ISU. I know quite a few people who go to ISU and for most of them, it was a 'last resort.' It's not a bad school, but definitely nothing compared to UIUC.
