university of illinois at urbana champaign vs stern at nyu

uiuc pros: close to home, very good social network, incredible career service program, lots of friends, campus and fun nights out to bars/clubs etc, mostly likely going to find a job in chicago.
cons: mediocre finance program

nyu pros: excellent finance program, the city, lots of internship opp (in nyu =)
cons: transfer credit headache, $$$ (not a big deal), hard to find a job in chicago after i graduate, social circle is a bit more cold i hear...

i really can't decide - both schools have good things and bad...i wouldn't even consider money as an issue, help!

Whats your desired career path?

finance. but i also want to consider job opportunities (hopefully in chicago, though i can't say for sure) as well as building a strong social network

Yeah, but what specifically? Some schools place better in some industries.

I can't be sure, but I feel like I want to do trading/stockmarket

Well if you're looking to place into wall street jobs (S&T, IB, Consulting) I would head to Stern. Recruiting is phenomenal there and a lot of it has to do with the location. At UIUC, you can still get great jobs especially if you are only looking to go Chicago. I can't really tell you for sure but I highly suggust you look into both career services and see where grads end up.
