UIUC vs PURDUE vs VTECH vs GTECH

I am a female international student and I have admits from the following Colleges for Fall 2010:

My Major : Electrical Engineering

UIUC

Purdue

Virginia Tech

Georgia Tech

Worcester Polytechnic Institute

I am going crazy trying to decide where to go. Can somebody help me please.

Umm…Gatech…

Wow…
UIUC–3
Gatech–5
Purdue–10

I’d say GaTech too.

Depends on the major.

Major : Electrical Engineering

The ratio of Boys to Girls at GaTech sucks.
I have never been to the USA before. Can anybody tell me what the scene is like at GaTech.

I heard somebody mentioning that as far as academics are concerned, it’s almost the same at the top ten colleges & I should look at other factors : Climate, fees, social scene, class sizes, reputation, etc.

Hehe…I read in CC’s College Life forum that girls are indeed rare in Gatech. :p

I don’t go to the U of I, but I live really close to it and go there a lot. As for climate, we have pretty much full range of all the seasons. It can get very cold in the winter, but the Spring and Summer are really nice.

There are a lot of fraternities and sororities. All my friends who go there really like the school and it is definitely an amazing engineering school with a good reputation. None of my friends who went there really had trouble finding a group of friends he or she fit in with to have fun with; I’d say the social scene is pretty good. Champaign-Urbana probably isn’t the best college town out of all of them, but it’s decent!

I don’t really know about the classes or sizes though, but I’m sure you could get an idea from the website and you could look through a course catalog or something to see what is offered.
