So I've been accepted to all of the above schools for electrical engineering. But the problem is that UIUC didn't offer me any financial aid (I'm also OOS). It would cost me about 45k to go to uiuc, which means most of that I would have to take out in loans, and I'd be uncomfortable with a lot of debt once I graduate. For Santa Barbara and Davis (which I'm in-state) it would cost me about 18-20k. Is the higher education for engineering at uiuc worth the extra cost? Or should I stick with Davis/Santa barbara, and if so which one should I choose between those two?

I had the same choice to make. I picked UIUC. But money is not an issue for me (luckily). Anyway the point of my post is - that UCs are going to cost you $30k not 18-20k. Secondly - because of budget cuts - you may not be able to register for all the classes you want to - which may add another year to your graduation date. Thirdly - UC tuition is going up exponentially every year. So your decision is not simple.

If I were going to UC - I would pick SB or Davis.

It’s 18-20K for me because I got a scholarship from the UCS. And would you choose Davis or SB for the UCs for electrical engineering?

your fafsa might be still processing.check you student requirements for uiuc. Otherwise I’d go with santa barbra. Illinois isn’t to fun and it gets damn cold here

SB most definitely.
