How much debt needed at each?
20k debt for uiuc, none for others
$20,000 per year debt would need a cosigner, which is typically a bad idea.
Both UCSC and SJSU are relatively convenient to smaller Silicon Valley computer companies for interviewing for jobs. Also, if you really prefer CS versus CS+statistics, the major is more favorable at those two, assuming you have direct admission to the CS major.
Well, you don’t actually have to live at home for SJSU. You could live in a dorm.
I probably would choose that.
I’m not crazy about the campus (too much like an Ewok Village,) but UCSC is very well regarded in Silicon Valley for CS.
