UIUC vs. UIC - Public/Community Health

Today I found out I was accepted to UIC (still waiting for the Honors Program). I want to major in public/community health. I know that UIC has a very good public health program, and they also have the minor I want, psychology. However, I really, really love UIUC, and it seems like the better school overall. I’m drawn to UIUC because it’s further from home and would give me a “traditional” college experience, which is pretty important to me. But their community health program doesn’t seem as respected, and they don’t have a psychology minor - but I could always just take those as electives without having the official label of a minor.
The reason UIC is currently my second choice is because I would like to be further from home and have the traditional college experience. Ideally, I would like to get my bachelor’s in community health from UIUC, then my Master of Public Health degree from UIC. I don’t really want to get my bachelor’s and masters from the same place (which would be UIC) so that I could get different connections and learning experiences.
If UIUC had UIC’s majors/minors, it would be the perfect school for me. Can anyone offer their opinion on which would be best?

One thing to keep in mind going forward with public health. Unless you have another healthcare degree, like nursing, MD, etc; a degree in public health is considered rather useless. It will not be easy to find a job in the field.

I know. But public health is a growing field, from what I’ve heard, and of the rest of my interests (english, psychology) this seems like the route that would lead to the most success. I also want to concentrate in obesity/nutrition which is a growing problem, so I’m hoping that could help too.
