I am an international student and I have been accepted into uni of illinois-urbana champaign, uni of michigan-ann arbor and carnegie mellon uni. I have applied for a computer science/ computer engineering major in each and I don't know where to go. I know the CMU is the best out of the three for computer science but heres the problem: UMich offers a dual degree program in Engineering and Business. So, if I go to Umich I can get 2 degrees when I graduate(BS in computer science and BBA). But is a dual degree beneficial/good? How important is a BBA? Is it better, and more worthwhile, to to an engineering major and a business minor (will most likely do this if going to cmu or uiuc) rather than a dual degree? I am only considering umich because of the dual degree opportunity but I don't know how beneficial it is. Please HELP!!!

Are you admitted to the Engineering Global Leadership Honors Program (http://www.engin.umich.edu/egl/index.html)? That’s the only ‘dual degree’ program I know but I don’t think they admit freshman directly. Where did you see it?

Dual Baccalaureate Degree Opportunities
Students with interest in more than one program offered by the College may work for additional bachelor’s degrees concurrently if they plan the course elections carefully. Students will find that it is possible to satisfy the subject requirements of both programs in a minimum amount of time by conferring early with the respective program advisors. Approval by involved departments is required. Opportunities to obtain an additional bachelor’s degree in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, the School of Business Administration, the School of Music, and other academic units are also available.

YEah, they don’t admit freshmen directly, only after the freshman year

It might take you 5 years for the dual program … and you also have to apply and be admitted to Ross after your first year in engineering.

Is it not possible to do it in 4 even with ap credits?
If not, then i cant decide between michigan and cmu for computer science…
I’ve looked at the egl thing n it looks really interesting but i’m having second thoughts about the Literature, Science and Arts part…

CMU of course~~~~

I would go to Michigan. CMU is good, but Michigan is better. Besides, Ann arbor is nicer than Pitt and life on the Michigan campus is more well-rounded and fun than life on the CMU campus.
