OP means “original poster” – here meaning you.

Here are the numbers: [Undergraduate Program - Admissions, School of Business, University of Wisconsin - Madison](http://www.bus.wisc.edu/undergraduate/admissions/)

Anyone can answer my question above???

Notice that the index column (which is what Businessweek ranked the schools by) comes before the teacher quality grade. I assume this means that the grades they assigned were not part of the rankings. Therefore UIUC’s C in teacher quality wasn’t a factor.

Also, they ranked 31st in academic quality vs 55th for UW. What exactly they use to judge academic quality–not sure.

The specific ranking is not relevant; it’s way too subjective. I was just trying to show you that UIUC is consistently ranked slightly higher that UW for business. IMO, I would consider the consistency of the results using different ranking methods to be more indicative than any individual ranking.

It’s like it undergrad “rankings” of schools, Harvard is typically 1-4 and UW is typically 20-40. It doesn’t matter whether one ranking had Harvard at exactly 2 or 1 and Wisconsin at 28 or 32, all that matters is that it’s reasonable to say that Harvard is ranked higher than Wisconsin.

Obviously the difference between UIUC and UW business is far more subtle.
