UK Applicant

Hi guys,
I'm currently reading for a degree in Maths at Oxford in the UK, and am considering converting to Law, potentially by going to a US Law school (over here I would have to do 2 more years of school anyway, and I like the idea of emigrating to America). I've been reading up on it a bit, but am confused by the whole GPA thing. The only work I'm graded on are my final exams, which I'm hopefully on track for a decent 2.i in, so I was wondering how that translates, and whether it would prevent me from getting into the top schools. If it helps I also have fairly decent extra-curriculars including president of the law society here (would that help?).

Thanks a lot

While I may be out of date, I know that there are "set" "translations" of UK "marks." My understanding is that at 2:1 is treated as a 3.5 by many top law schools. The LSAT is all important.

Please note that going to a US law school doesn't guarantee that you'll be allowed to stay here permanently.
