UK student - stanford?

hiya to everyone ! im kinda new to posting on this page but iv been reading posts for ages now

im from the UK and i REALLY want to go to Stanford (ever since i was 12)
what are my chances
11 A* at GCSE
taking the IB
SAT 2390
SAT II 650 BIO
670 Chem
630 world history
extra curriculars : symph orchestra lead flute, choir, tennis and athletics team, solo flautist on italy tour, maths olympiad
anyone else from the UK planning on going to the US ? what made you want to go ?

Your SAT reasoning results are really good, but you need to work on your SAT 2 subjects. You should aim to get at least 700 on each (over 750 would be ideal!)

What level have you reached on the maths olympiad?

wow ur academics seem perfect... ignoring your SAT2s that is. but your SAT2s definitely can be improved, it's just a matter of studying. i assume you haven't done your a levels yet? Once you are done with that, plus a little familiarisation with the SAT 2 formats, SAT2s should be a piece of cake.

ur ccas look great too!

so yeah u're all set. but, remember admissions at highly selective universities is sometimes a matter of luck. especially with kids filing applications to everywhere nowadays, even really outstanding applicants (by stanford's standard) can be sometimes be rejected. so don't count your hopes too high.

you look especially qualified for a UK student (who usually have lower SAT scores, at least here on CC). if you don't apply for finaid you should be a shoe-in (is this the correct expression? I saw it written in other ways, as well: shoo-in etc.).

Funny
Americans want to go to the UK (Oxbridge and so on), British want to go to the US

well.. yes shoe-in is the right expression for that ,.. but well we must also take in account that the college in consideration is stanford university and admission there are equally abt constellations and ur stars as they are abt ur academic credibility .. so well yes u do fall perfect with ur acadmeic credibility and thats all u may do for urself as of now. .. the rest leave on to them

dont assume that since u qualify every critereon an average stanford student would fit in , so ulll be perfectly admited at the stanford university . Rather well u can after all this safely i wud say assume that you wont be a auto rejection and perfectly ideal candidate from our view to be admited to the university ( but hey when has a ideal CC preditction ever come true )

SO fingers crossed and work in progress , rest all in the hands of unknown souls..

SM
