Hi:
With many students either not taking the ACT at all, or not having multiple opportunities to take it, do you think UM’s median ACT range will go down? Or do you think that they’ll accept a bucket of kids with no scores, and then ensure that those they accept with ACTs are still in the same range. I ask because I have a 32 and am OOS, and I’m wondering if perhaps a 32 this year is like a 33 in prior years? Thanks for any thoughts.
A 32 is still a 32. And the test score range is unlikely to change much, if at all. However, a student like D21 may not able to submit a score, since all her previous test dates were cancelled.
Thanks. But if the test score range is derived, at least in part, from students being able to submit their best score from multiple tests, and they don’t have the chance to take multiple tests, couldn’t that affect the range to the downside?
@Kolesar99. I really don’t think so. I just talked to a friend’s kid that has a 4.0 unweighted and 34 Act with Sat equivalent on the first try last year as a junior. She has an outstanding essay. There will still be thousands of these students. Michigan will be looking at other things like psat scores, and pretty much anything you think will be helpful. Look at their admissions website for this fall cycle.
