Hello everyone,
I am about to set my undergraduate decision and I was wondering if I could hear job opportunities from the schools I’ve narrowed it down to.

University of Miami (currently bassoon performance major) will be switching into the music engineering program, where I’ll dual degree in music engineering and electrical engineering.
Vs.
University of Florida, where I’ll be a engineer (probably biomedical) alongside a bassoon performance major.

With money not being an issue (I’m paying about the same), which would be a great step in job opportunities out of college? Thanks for reading!

Depends what kind of jobs you are seeking. Don’t know much about music but EE at the U and BME at UF will probably provide comparable prospects.

UF limits the number of students in it’s BME undergraduate program. UF feels a masters degree is required to work in the BME field, so they are only selecting students they think are likely candidates for grad school, med school, law school, etc. The first class was set at 20 students (they started the program about 2 years ago), with the plan being to increase this number, each year, as they group it.

Check out this link on the first class graduation:

Good Luck!
