UM-Ann Arbor --> 3rd tier Macc program

I'm a recent graduate from the University of Michigan (BA in econ) and I'm thinking about getting a masters in accounting from Eastern Michigan University. The program is convenient (cheap, close, no prereqs, ect) and I'm pretty sure I would get close to a 4.0 GPA.

I'm just worried that going to Eastern will do more (career) harm than good. I mean EMU doesn't have that great of a reputation!

I've been able to land some decent interviews (Capital One, FTI Consulting, ect), and I'd hope that going to Eastern wouldn't eliminate these options in the future. Does this make sense?

My current goal is to go into public accounting, but I want to keep my options open.....

Anyone have any thoughts?

Honestly, a MACC is really just to get you to the 150 credit hour mark. You could go to a better school, but I am not sure it really matters. UMich is the alumni and school you will go off of and the reputation you will have.

If you can still afford it, go to Ross. The experience there is unlike any other major at UMich. In addition, you’ll have even better networking opps for your career.

Thanks for the responses.

Ross isn’t really affordable (for me) and it doesn’t begin until August. I plan on enrolling in December.
