I’ve been at this school for 6 days and I just want to say how wonderful it is…and that everyone should apply. that’s all…

glad to hear you like brown so much! i'm jealous. :) i was curious, how is the housing for transfers? also was there a transfer orientation & how was it?

they put transfers in random places but it's usually fine. there are some transfers in converted lounges (which is actually quite sweet), some in suites, some in singles (like me).

transfer orientation was actually a lot better than i thought it would be (i'm a transfer, if you didn't notice :)). i thought coming in based of of the lilterature sent to us and the lack of contact (unlike some of the other schools to which I was accepted, who had people emailing me and such) that it was rather blase. But they actually had a lot of caring transfer counselors, split us up into little social groups, had parties and get togethers -- it was actually great. I didn't go to all of the events because i'm a little lazy and a lot jaded by orientations after freshman year's orientation frolicks, but the events i went to were nice. And it was a lot more laid back than freshman orientation. Few events were required, and we didn't have to do any dorky "this is sexual harrassment" talks like the freshman were condemned to.

All the transfers are really nice. Everyone is really glad to be here and most people "transfered up" in prestige so no one is pretentious. In fact, I haven't met any pretentious people at this school at all yet. It doesn't fit the northeast stuck up stereotype or the ivy league pretentious steretype...at least not yet.

All in all I highly reccomend this school as a place to attend from freshman year or as a place to which to transfer!!

The sexual harassment talk for freshmen was actually really good!

I'll be down there tomorrow to join the Tulane contingent, ClaySoul :)

I didn't go to that one. What was pretty good was the meeting on the drinking policy. I slept when that cop spoke but when the Rich (some kind of dean) was talking, that was a good time. Unit 4 *****es.

Unit 10! unit 10!

i'm drunk and bored (in my defense of posting here again)

cool eliptica! WAVE AT BROWN!

you freshman and your silly units you...

Haha, I just had the best day there. Party at Phi Kappa Psi tonight, maybe I'll see a few of you there.

Wave Brown Wave.

yeah yeah! Are you going to waterfire?

ClaySoul are you a sophomore or junior transfer?

i can give you more in detail if you'd like. i'm just a bit tired and drunk at the moment :)

there's another post around here, or it may be in the transfer thread, in which i give a lot of detailed advice about transfer applications.

Hey Clay, are you playing Rugby here? I know a girl on my hall, Ploi, who's playing girls rugby...

you bet! I've probably met Ploi, but I'm really bad with names. Is she a freshman?

Yeah she is. She's got a very deep tanned skin, black short hair... about 5'6"... she also plays field hockey.

aww my RA at Brown this summer played rugby, but she was a senior last year, so you probably don't know her
she said the team is pretty good
