How does UM's biology program rank? Especially compared to Penn State, Princeton, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Duke, and Cornell.

According to the USNWR (graduate rankings, so it is not 100% applicable to undergrads), here's how those schools are ranked in Biology:

2 Harvard University (tied with MIT and Berkeley)

5 Johns Hopkins (tied with Caltech)

9 Princeton University (tied with Yale)

12 Duke University (tied with Wisconsin-Madison)

14 Cornell University & Michigan (tied with Columbia, UCSD and Washington U.)

45 Penn State

Does anybody have any undergraduate rankings? Or where do you personally see each of those colleges' biology programs?

There are no undergraduate rankings. I would say the quality of their undergraduate programs are pretty much similar to the quality of their graduate programs.

Wow, so you honestly think that PSU's bio program is that far behind UM's?

Actually, there isn't that much of a difference between #15 and #45. Remember, there are hundreds of Biology program. What separate top 50 from top 25 is minimal.

Are you being facetious just cuz you don't want to see me at UM?

LOL No, I am serious Maguo. I actually would like to see you whereever you are content and thriving. I personally picked Michigan over Chicago and my intended field of study was Economics. Although Michigan is definitely one of the top 15 Econ programs in the nation, Chicago is generally regarded as one of the top 2 or 3 in the World. Clearly, I chose based on fit. Michigan is better than PSU, but if you feel you would have a better overall experience at PSU, go for it.
