How is the department in general? I know they're ranked fairly high, & I've heard some good things about it. I've heard some bad things as well, as in the professors aren't all that strong, but I'm not sure how legitimate those claims are.
I'm also wondering what the job opportunities in this department are after 4 years and after a masters, as well as internship opportunities during my 4 years (interning abroad too). I know Michigan has strong alumni connections, but also I've heard that the LSA career center is not all that strong.
Just wanted to hear some student feedback

bump…

The intro professors (101, 102) are going to suck, but past that the professors are really good. The LSA career center is okay, but there is an element of self-sufficiency required there

yeah i’ve heard that econ 101 was the most dropped course. what about the job opportunities? I’ve seen the companies where graduates from grad school were placed on the web site, but I’m looking for some student feedback on how many students get jobs, internships, etc or if it’s harder the find than other majors.

Econ majors usually do pretty well, especially compared to the rest of LSA. I wouldn’t be too concerned about it.
