<p>My friend's son is a frosh at UM and has applied for transfer to UVA and has been waitlisted. Before he pushes that-he's been asked to go into the honors program at Miami. Does anyone have any input as to whether he should push the UVA option or go to honors at Miami.</p>
<p>Well University of Miami is a rising school. Certainly not at the level of UVA by any means. However, it is as good or better than George Washington University, Boston University and UMD College Park.</p>
<p>Miami is making a serious run for the top 50 in U.S. News and its selectivity has grown tremendously. To help further their advancement will be Miami's huge endowment.</p>
<p>If your friend's son wants to do Pre-Med or marine sciences and is in honors I highly suggest he stay at Miami because the school is on the verge of doing something very special.</p>
