yeah i'm not supposed to be on here .. i was banned from college confidential .. by my parents .. they made me delete aim and msn too, which isn't horribly bad cuz it's easy to reinstall, but it's still kinda sad, the internet was like my main entertainment ... shows what happens when you have obsessive perfectionist parents .. i have a feeling i'm going to have a bad rest of the summer thanks to collegeboard and their idea of creating a certain test that parents think their kids should study for 24/7 ..
anyway the question is about a song, i don't know what it's called and i can't find it thru google, here's some of the words I wrote down:

*ooh i like they way you're freakin like that
it's an obsession
amor
*
and it repeats amor a lot
any ideas hopefully?
i actually heard it on the radio several times so it's not really that obscure

no, don't worry, i can't leave forever even if my parents made me
as of now it seems that i can only come here when i sneak on like this, i don't know how long it will be till they cool down, my parents seemed so angry for some reason .. mid life crisis maybe? seriously it's not like i murdered someone ..

the song you are thinking of is by frankie j and it's called "obsession". there's also a spanish version if you care. and it's actually a remake of the old bachata (dominical rep music) version, which was originally in spanish, called "obsesion" (big difference in spelling haha) by the group aventura.

the actual lyrics are "you freaky" not "you're freakin" haha. and then its "amor, no es amor" or "love, its not love". in the new version by frankie j he sings the chorus, but in the original a woman sang the chorus since the song is about the dude being obsessed with girl. so the chorus was the girl telling him it's not love. and just to let you know, frankie j is an ex member of the mexican hip hop/cumbia group Kumbia Kings (booo), which is lead by Selena's brother (dont know if you know who Selena is though. she was killed by her accountant lady person in '95).

anyway, too much info. the funny thing is i actually knew all this already without looking anything up. and i'm not even mexican. must be my other hispanicness.

aw thanks so much coqui, i have this thing for spanish songs, so i think i'll check out the spanish version too .. but i really really havta get off now, thanks again :)

and oh my gosh, i have a song by the kumbia kings, it's called "la cucaracha" .. it's cute :p

oh god. haha. do you know what they say in that song? the chorus is the traditional cucaracha song, exept when they say the cockroach (instead of missing a leg to walk) is missing marijuana to smoke. i cant stand that group.

if you want to hear some good popular music spanish thats good listen to

juanes
shakira (spanish albums and new one)
alejandro sanz (u def should check out "la tortura". it's a song he did with shakira. dont listen to the remix though."
la oreja de vangogh
cafe tacvba
vico c (reggueton/rap)
mana

that's the really popular music. there's a lot more of course, but you are safe with those. well, is 11:30am and that's early for me so...

lol yeah i noticed the lyrics, after i explained the song to my little bros, they liked it and didn't want to stop hearing it .. so I still have the song .. it's kinda catchy
But I like your list! I have songs from Juanes and shakira .. I looove La Camisa Negra, I showed that song to my whole spanish class, they really liked it too. In fact we spent a day interpreting the lyrics, like meanings and stuff. Actually a couple of days, it was great. I'm listening to Alejandro Sanz in 'la tortura' now .. it sounds so fiesty, haha
i'm trying to decipher the lyrics now
I couldn't find the spanish version of 'obsession' :( But I'll check out the other artists. The way I discovered Juanes was on TV, there was this concert with popular bands playing, and he came on and performed it was like a spanish MTV.. we have a couple of spanish channels, do you watch any? Sometimes I watch the shows, like the "real life" shows; they're really dramatic though. Can you understand the language well? How hispanic are you? I took the class through school only, but it's related to arabic so it wasn't really hard for me with pronunciations and stuff, like some words have the exact same origin. It's really cool though that you're into those kinda songs, i"m going to download some more, i'll tell you what i think :)

haha. i'm 53% hispanic. jp. i'm full blood puerto rican. 100% boricua. fluent all the way. spanish is my second-first language, if that makes any sense.

if you need help deciphering the lyrics, just tell me. i would do it now but i'm tired and i want you to have as much trouble as possible :)

btw, i'm sure you know this already, but a lot of times if you translate something in spanish to english, it'll sounds really stupid or may not make sense. it just sounds different in spanish.
