UM Waitlist 2014 Discussion and Decisions

This is for all of us on the waitlist, lets keep the talk in one thread so I dont have to go look back 10 pages again!

has anyone gotten in off the waitlist?

Im interested to know… If we get in off the waitlist, are we gunna get screwed with housing?

woot, join the party

haven’t heard nothing yet

That’s a double negative!

Alexandre, do you know anything about housing that you can tell us? Maybe just a general rundown for those of us who dont know much about the different options, and what we as waitlisters are likely to be offered?

one admitted
then one said no one was taken off the list

I read from like 5 different places that UMich wont be going to their waitlist this year. sigh-

Well, I read somewhere that around 30% applicants would be taken off the waitlist. I really hope that this is true.

30 percent is a really huge number, so that seems unlikely

at least 10% at most 30%…this from observation throughout the years/what Umich’s been quoted saying. Look if they;re not taking any waitlist this year wolverine access wont have the option. I think we all need to take a deep breath haha. For me it’s life or death. if i don’t get umich i have no shot in going to the states until next year (assuming the uni will accept international transfer that easily due to differences in the structure of the academic year) meaning ill be stuck in this bleak hole for another 3-4 years (england or hongkong, depending on whether i hear back from them)…

my son called admissions yesteday and some one told him that they can definitely say that they’ll take people off the waitlist . did nay of you call ? got any positive asnwer?

You guys are pretty much gonna end up in Baites :O

what does it mean ? Baites ?

I didn’t call, but chatted online with the student representatives if that’s what they are called.

she said whether they are taking people off the list depends on how competitive it is this year.

yosup ,can you explain what you’re trying to say ? By Baites ? you mean to say they’re fooling us on waitlst ?

Baits is the name of a group of dormitories in the north campus.

Yeah, I meant if you get off the wait list you’ll have to live on Baits, where the smell of rotting corpses will poison your mind.

I think the priority here is getting off the waitlist than housing…

And Baits isn’t a death sentence. Some posts on here make it sound like it’s going to make or break your college experience. It’s not.
