I am an international transfer student who just admitted to those two schools (UMAA - LSA, UNC - Economics) As an international student, UMAA's tuition and board are about $45000 which is really tough to afford. However, it's also hard to give up the fact that UMAA is more prestigious than UNC in general. I don't know which school I should attend. Please advise me! thanks!

It depends on your major.

Michigan is the better overall school. If they cost you the same amount, go to Michigan.

Novi, they don’t cost the same. UNC costs slightly under $35,000/year whereas Michigan costs slightly over $45,000/year. There is a $12,000 difference/year. If the OP can graduate in 2 years, I think the cost difference ($25k) would be worth it. However, if the OP requires 3 years to graduate, I think UNC may be a better deal. Yes, Michigan is more prestigious, but UNC is pretty prestigious in its own right.
