hi im an accounting major and was wondernig which school was better for accouting and business in general.

I don't know about business, but I have heard that the Lady Terps basketball team is much better looking than Rutgers! :)

umd's business school has a great rep. idk too much about rutgers..but..the rhsmith school of business here is well known and really is a great college w/in maryland.

Does UMD offer forensic accounting?

The school you go to doesnt matter for accounting. The only thing that does is whether or not the big 4 recruit (they recruit from the smith school and Im sure they do at Rutgers also) and getting a decent GPA (3.3+). Pick the school based on fit.

I'd go with UMD, UMD requirments are 3.0, while at Rutgers is an application, some years 3.2's will get accepted while others 3.5's wont get accepted. Rutgers b school also is only about 500-700 studnets, and the size of the school is the same as UMD, which school is much bigger.

lemme makes things clearer

rutgers and umd itself are the same size, while UMD's b school is much larger/more respecatable

I know that Rutgers biz school is only a 2 year program. Therefore, one need to apply in their soph. year. UMd is a 4 year program. I concur though. I would go with UMd. Then again, I am from NJ and Rutgers has a seemingly miserable reputation overall in this state.
