Good luck everybody!!
How competitive is CHC?
I had 1470 on the SAT and didn’t get into CHC. Maybe it’s hard for internationals.
Are the regular college classes much worse than CHC?
Hi guys, i am an international students. I intend to apply to UMass RD. What is the maximum amount of merit based aid that I can get? Thank you
I am an International Student and got accepted into Undecided Engineering.
My Stats:
IB Predicted: 36/42
ACT: 33/36
HL: Math, Physics, CS and Economics
Strong ECs
$12K Chancellor’s Award
Still nothing for me (engineering)
Does anyone know if it’s a trend: at first they release everyone who has been accepted with scholarship, then just accepted and after that they start with deferrals and rejections?
My D’s application became under review only quite recently, even though she submitted mid-October, way before the deadline
Son accepted for Computer Science, 1st choice
Stats and context:
From in-state highly competitive public HS
Took all honors and/or APs (but not many AP’s offered, so just AP Calc and AP Physics)
3.5 unweighted GPA, 4.02 weighted
1540 SAT
790 Math SAT I
750 Bio SAT I
AP English - 4 (Took honors english as no AP offered, then took exam)
No class ranking, but I’d guess top 25%?
Few EC’s, one club sport (does competitive online gaming count?)
No honors, no merit
Thrilled to get into CS, though
Congrats to those who got in, condolences to those who did not, good luck to those still waiting. I highly recommend Frank Bruni’s “Where You Go Is Not Who’ll You’ll Be” for perspective on the college arms race!
@wolfwing123 had heard Honors more dependent on GPA/class rank than SAT, ACT, etc. and that you had to be in the top 10% of your high school class.
The Honors program allows you to take up to two honors courses per semester, from my understanding, your other classes are with everyone else. The honors classes are smaller. There’s also separate housing for honor students, if they choose. You can also apply to transfer into the honors program after your first semester,if your grades are good enough!
Accepted!
