UMass Amherst 2023 Decisions

I know that UMass Amherst won’t release decisions until December-January, but I just wanted to make this thread in advance. Good luck to everyone who applied!

Last year, EA decisions came out on dec. 13! I really hope that it’s the same this year

Fingers crossed!!

They started coming out Dec 13 but many did not hear for several weeks after that. It seemed they were releasing by major. My son (engineering) did not get his acceptance until early January. So just know that if your friend finds out on Dec 13 but is a totally different major that doesn’t mean you aren’t getting in. Good luck!

Once acceptances come out can everyone please share their stats along with your decision? Thanks!
Good luck everyone!

@HLGC do you know when does business majors decisions come out?

My friend said the decisions were more rolling (as in, there is a hard deadline, but decisions come out over the next month). But that’s not what I researched?? Should they be out mid-December?

UMass seems to release them in batches over time. I seem to remember applicants being strung along for an extended period of time when my son17 had applied. He did get his decision before Holiday break but had numerous friends that did not hear back until later. My son had applied to the business school, btw. I think he heard by 12/15 or so. In state.

A friend’s child received her acceptance to UMASS Amherst today.

@suzyQ7 do you know if it came via email, portal or us mail? High stats applicant?

In state or out of state? I had heard that decisions were coming out mid December!

She got it yesterday and she’s out of state. Not sure of her major, but not CS or engineering, perhaps something music related. I’m fairly certain it was an email notification but not 100% positive.

No change to the portal here and no acceptance letter / email with a NetID for SPIRE login eirther,

OOS applicant

I will get more details tonight and post back.

Conditional acceptance based on fine arts audition. Email.

@suzyQ7 ahhh that’s different, that’s not her academic acceptance. It’s the results of the audition.
