UMass Amherst 2023 Decisions

@lexluthor5 Merit does come in the letter.

I didn’t send Umass my FAFSA, could I still get merit?

Did everyone who applied Early Action get this email? Wondering why my daughter did not?

@collegeboundtoo does her online portal show that she applied early action? If so has she checked spam? I wouldn’t worry about it as long as her app shows as complete and that she’s an early action applicant.

This was the whole early action decisions email I got earlier today:

"The UMass Amherst Office of Undergraduate Admissions will begin releasing decisions for Early Action applicants during the week of December 10, 2018. Not all decisions are released at the same time. We will continue to release them throughout December and into the first part of January.

When your decision is ready, we will send a notification to this email address letting you know that your application status has been updated. At that time, log in to your Student Status Page to see your decision. Information about decisions will not be given out over the phone.

Sincerely,

Undergraduate Admissions
University of Massachusetts Amherst"

Thanks Collegemom. The Status page states “Thank you for applying early admission” and shows application received. Additionally, it shows a check mark and received for Transcript, Recommendation and SAT or ACT scores, so I am assuming the application is complete although no where does it specifically say that. Maybe I will call admissions tomorrow to inquire.

@collegeboundtoo my son just got the email late last night.

We received the same email yesterday.

My S and D (twins) received the email as well. Good luck!

Do you guys think some decisions will come out tomorrow?

I hope that the decisions begin to come out tomorrow! Does anyone have an idea of what majors will be released first?

last years thread shows alot of ppl got their acceptance/rejection on the 14th!

Does anyone know what time decisions usually come out? I’m also in-state, so I’m not sure if I should be expecting to hear back as early as tomorrow (?).

Does anyone know when you would hear if you’ve been invited to the Commonwealth Honors College? Would that come with your acceptance email?

I’m pretty sure that we hear about the Honors College when we get our decision letter.

@mattm2019 I’m in-state too, and it looks like last year’s applicants heard 5 days after the date UMass said they’d post decisions. Though international students have already gotten decisions, so things may move faster (or entirely differently) from last year.

Thank you emk2019.

I have a student currently at UMass Amherst, and another one applying this year. For my daughter’s year, the first round of admissions for other than international students came out December 14, with another round coming out December 21. My daughter heard on the 14th and her friend on the 21st - same town, same major so there did not appear to be a pattern to that. Honors College notifications were sent at the same time as the acceptance. This was a few years ago so could be completely different this year.
