Should I be concerned that I haven’t heard back when my friends who applied after me to the same major (undecided) did?
No, don’t be concerned by that.
The exploratory track is something you either pick, or get placed into. It allows you to explore majors related to the particular track you’re in, and/or to take pre-req courses for a major you didn’t get right into. So for example, if you’d applied to engineering but they couldn’t admit you directly into that major, you may be admitted into the exploratory track for natural sciences, so you can take the pre-req classes needed to get into the engineering major.
The honors college is hard to get into. Higher GPA and SAT averages than the uni as a whole, and they also consider other factors, such as leadership, in their decisions re: honors college.

@Art_1018 congrats!! Are you in state or oos? Thanks!
@RoaringMice Honors College is almost impossible to get in to, especially in-state. There are myriad examples of in-state applicants with near perfect scores and grades who did not get accepted in to honors.
Merit aid and honor college are the baits for OOS applicants. It is hard for instates to get merit aid as the tuition is already much lower.
@nancyjo67 Thank you! Out of state…south
