Hey, so currently I am a junior with a 3.5 unweighted GPA and a 4.35 weighed GPA. However my academic core GPA is 3.76 (unweighted academic core stripped of fluff elective classes) and my recalculated academic core with weight will be around 4.03 and will end as a 4.2 if UMass counts first semester senior grades ( and if I get straight A’s lol) My SAT’s are a poor representation of my academic skill (got a 1170 out of 1600, was very sick that day etc) but I plan on retaking it. I got a 29 on my ACT and plan on retaking it so I can get in the 32-33 area. I played lacrosse, soccer, did a multitude of clubs in school, working on getting over 300+ hours, was secretary for DECA and president for Key Club etc etc
I’m an amazing writer also.
Coming from a very poor neighborhood in south florida with a single mom who’s very sick. Had to get a job to support her while still staying up to ace my AP classes. So yeah I’m an out of state student and I’m also mixed. What are my chances?
Bumpp ):
Don’t retake both SAT and ACT. Choose the one you liked best (Your ACT score is better) and prepare for that really well.
With a GPA of 4.0 and an ACT of 31 you are mid-range for both schools. Keep trying to get those scores up there.
