UMass Amherst Audition

Hey everyone,
I'm a current undergrad at UMass and I'll be auditioning for the music major (jazz guitar concentration) in March. I'm very technically proficient on this instrument, but I don't think my sight-reading skills are not up-to-par with the rest of the music program here (I can easily sight-read tablature but I haven't had enough experience with standard notation to sight-read quickly...been working on it a lot lately, but I'm still nervous about that part of the audition). Does anyone know what reading level is expected at the audition (i.e., what type/level of music will they ask me to sight-read)? I'm not worried about the scales, chord progressions, prepared pieces, etc...it's mostly just reading on the spot and following the rhythm changes correctly. If someone could give me a few examples of tunes they might ask me to sight-read, that would be great. Also, any other info from people who have auditioned at UMass??
Thanks!

If you’re there, go to the music dept and ask the professors or at least the students what the audition consists of. D has a number of friends who’ve auditioned at UMass and some who’ve attended but she’s not a musician herself and doesn’t know the particulars. You’re in the spot to get exactly the info you need.
