It would be helpful if students posted if they were MA residents or out of state, especially if posting how much scholarship they received. Thanks.

Son applied Jan 3. No letter yet.

ACCEPTED today (march 4)
applied reg. decision around 12/22

Undecided
In-state
GPA: 3.22
ACT: 29
Private School <– doesn’t rank, it seems like everyone on this website has 4.0’s, but at my school only a few amazingly smart kids have them… so 3.22 is pretty decent.
Lots of extra curriculars

My daughter was accepted today via RD. Also accepted to honors college and received dean’s scholarship ($2K). Her stats: in state, 4.41 GPA, 1290 SAT (CR+M).

Were the letters via US Post or email or on-line? Anyone from out of state hear?

Accepted today in-state, via usps , applied 11/27 regular decision.
2k deans scholarship
honors engineering
GPA: 4.6
SAT: 2200.

^^^ for in-state everything I’ve seen shows that $2k dean’s scholarship is the max merit aid awarded. Plus you still get Adams scholarship (like $1.7K for tuition).

If anyone in-state knows or heard of anything higher for merit please post. Doesn’t look like UMass wants to lure top in-state students like some other state (i.e., not Mass) universities.

US Mail to OOS applicant

My daughter (out of state) got her acceptance today–by US mail. ACT 30, GPA 98. Commonwealth College & Chancellor’s Scholarship. She specifically applied to the Studio Art BFA program. But apparently they send out their own letter of acceptance/rejection, which hasn’t arrived yet. Would be curious to know when/if anyone else hears officially about getting into specific majors (and from any current studio art students to see how they feel about the program).

Yes, UAlbanyProf. My D is in a similar situation. She applied, and auditioned, for the music department (oboe) but we have not heard from them yet. So she was accepted “undeclared” today - letter in the mail today. They told us at the audition that the letter from the music department should be coming very soon. Maybe it has to do with the Fine Arts School.

GPA about 3.85 weighted the UMass way, 1100 on the SATS, out of state, lots of great ECs.

Accepted! (Biology Major / Pre-Med)

GPA - 3.15
SAT - 1940 (1330 CW + M)
SAT II - Math Level 2 - 700
SAT II - Biology - 670

Had a killer essay and some extracurriculars. Also have the Adam’s scholarship.

Accepted as in-state! I got the Dean’s Scholarship and the CommColl invitation.

Engineering (most likely ChemE)
UW GPA: 3.96
ACT: 36
SAT Math 2: 800
SAT Chemistry: 800
