UMass Amherst Class of 2020 Decision Thread

Has anyone OOS heard any news yet? We are halfway across the country, so I am assuming it could be a while… DDs SPIRE account is unchanged.

On the first “Application Status Check” page, it says her application is “Complete Early Action Application,” and when you click on that, it says her application is complete and under review…

My D is in CA. All she has heard was the email saying decisions are coming out soon. Otherwise nothing…

@fivethirtyfive I’m from Connecticut and I recieved my acceptance package in the mail yesterday, you’ll probably hear soon

If I didn’t get the email does that mean I didn’t get in?

I hope not, I didn’t get am e-mail either.

Is it in your spam mail?

no its not. my sister got it and she has lower stats so

no email here but ds got in

Kids in my school got acceptances by mail yesterday with much lower stats. This is confusing. I didn’t get in today’s mail or on spire yet

@fretfulmother Congrats! If you don’t mind, can you please share her stats and major?

@motortrend what do you mean by “much lower stats” what stats are you talking about? Cus my stats are on the lower spectrum too so I wanna wanna know to give myself some hope if you dont mind. Also the majors that they applied for.

@sreya124 , thanks! I think I summarized his stats a bit back and don’t know by heart but approx. 4.6 gpa and 2390

@warrior481 They had 28 and 29 acts and 3.5 gpas. Not sure what their majors are. perhaps they are in a less competitive major? I’m not really sure…

Envelope arrived today! Letters of admission, Honors, and a $2000 per year scholarship which seems kind of small, but we are in state.

What major?

I haven’t heard anything. I applied for nursing and have a 2000 SAT score and a 100.2 weighted GPA

Was your letter also dated 15th, and envelope 19th?

Chemical Engineering. Didn’t check the postmark but will look asap.

Ok, thanks

Letter dated 12/15; postmark 12/18 - seems implausible to me that it took four days to drive a couple hours, but what do I know.

Hmm that’s weird…
Thanks!
