Hi, I’m an international students and I’ve just gotten my acceptance on Spire today. Perhaps it takes longer for the snail mail to reach my home than to reach places in the US so probably the mail is on its way already.
I’m also accepted into the Commonwealth Honors College, if it means anything
But, I can’t see my admission letter or scholarships. When I clicked on the “View Admissions Communication”, it shows a table that says “View”, I clicked on it and nothing happened. Also, even when Spire notified me of my acceptance, my admission status is still “Under review”.
Is anybody experiencing the same thing?
I can’t view any scholarships I may have gotten. I know international students can’t expect much from a US public school but still I’m curious.

Accepted on spire, snail mail might take a while to reach me. @AsianNotANerd Yeah I’m experiencing the same. When I click Admission status, it’s still under review.
My SPIRE account just got updated today! I got into BS Computer Science program! Here are some of my stats:
International Student: India
SAT - 2050 / 2400 (M: 760, CR: 600, W: 690) - Single Sitting
SAT II - Math Level 2 800, Chemistry 750, Physics 780
GPA: 87% in Grade XI, 10 CGPA in Grade X CBSE (Indian Board)
ECs: Somewhat good
Recommendations: Should be decent.
Just for the users here still waiting for the decision, my last name starts with N, I applied on 30th October and my application went under review near about 10th November.

I’m really nervous right now. The reason I applied EA for UMass is because I want to secure a spot as a CS major. If I don’t get an acceptance soon, I’m afraid I won’t get into the CS program just because UMass reviewed my application later than others (or even deferred, since I heard UMass caps the amount of students accepted EA).
For those of you who got the acceptance notification on Spire, did your “Application Status” change accordingly? Are you able to view a copy of your letter of acceptance? Are you able to see any kind of scholarships you are offered?
I just got notified of my acceptance through Spire, and my Application Status hasn’t changed (still Under Review). I am also unable to see a copy of my formal acceptance letter or any kind of scholarships.
i was accepteer on spire and at midnight of the day i got accepted it the “under review” changed to “accepted to first choice major” also the scholarship info only comes in the mail
Just got my letter from UMass in the mail I got rejected which im shocked as to why. 650 Reading, 720 math, 500 writing. My gpa was 3.0 weighted with good EC. Anyone else get rejected this is just weird…
I’m extremely anxious to find out if I got in or not. 680M 630 CR and 3.6 GPA. Not the best stats but decent enough. Applied for CS. I have not received a letter nor has my status changed from complete early application to under review. Should I be worried?
@AsianNotANerd Thanks. My daughter also got her acceptance on Spire today. CS with invitation to join Commonwealth honors college. Same here, when you click on ‘View’ nothing happens. But her status on spire has changed to ‘admitted to your first choice major’.
@asleepypotato Are CS extracurriculars necessary to get into CS? The closest thing I have to that is Math Team and 2 years of Java Programming in my school.
I’m really not sure, UMass Amherst lists them as “considered”. I know one of my friends who only got a 27 on the ACT that got into their CS department but is in my programming club.
The thing is that my GPA and ACT are both above the 75th percentile for UMass and most likely above average for CS at UMass, and I have decent ECs but none of them relate directly to CS, which makes me worried that I won’t get into CS especially since UMass still hasn’t sent me a letter but all of my friends have one.
