UMass Amherst Class of 2020 Decision Thread

Did more acceptances come out today?? I’m not home yet!

DS got a big white envelop today - waiting impatiently for him to finish school!

No results for Just got my acceptance in the mail to Isenberg school of management! Also into honors program and received a $12000 Chancellors scholarship. Anybody know what largest merit scholarship UMass offers?.

My son got his acceptance this afternoon. Came with a nice scholarship as well

Just got an acceptance in the mail! Accepted to Computer Science with a 4.4 GPA and a 33 ACT!

My packet doesn’t say anything about the honors college or a scholarship, though. Is that supposed to come with it? (I’m in state)

Is anybody who was accepted today feel comfortable sharing their stAts?

got the packet in the mail. roughly 3.9 weighted gpa, 1850 sat, 28 act, but course load is big with ap and honors classes, also have one dual enrollment class completed with college credit. $8000 scholarship and honors program like I said before

congrats to all those who have been accepted. Can I ask, when did you apply - datewise. (i wonder if it is a FIFO method of review).

Nothing in the mail again today. I applied October 30th.

There was a separate letter inside the admissions packet with information pertaining to scholarships

That sucks, I was hoping for a deans scholarship at least since I’m in state. Maybe they decide by major rather than actual stats?

Accepted today through snail mail, 3.25 uw GPA, 30 ACT, 1940 SAT, heavy course load filled with AP and honors classes. Received the scholarship for $8000 a year.

Accepted today to Honor’s. $12000 3.85 GPA, 2000 SAT, 7 APs

Accepted today. OOS. $12000 a year engineering. It came in regular mail. Online still not updated.

Accepted today by mail. Completed application by mid October. 3.8 wieghted gpa. 1740 superscore SAT. Scholarship of $6000 per year

@mrpwnage Yes it should come with the package if you got into their Honors program and got any scholarship from them.

DS accepted today via snail mail. OOS. $6000 scholarship. Did not get into Sport Management but did get into Communications. GPA 3.4 UW, CR 640, M 600. Trying to decide if he wants to attend UMass and try to transfer into SM for sophomore year or accept an offer somewhere else where he’s already a SM major …

@sreya124 Thanks. I find it really bizarre that I got into CS but not the honors college.

DD accepted today via snail mail as well. OOS. Nice scholarship.

FCSmomRN my son had a similar situation, 6K scholarship, 3.3W GPA , 1290 SAT, OOS (NY). Accepted as undecided and wanted Sports Managment. Got into U of Oregon, Ohio University, Bowling Green, Cortland, Brockport. Really wanted to attend UMass (his first choice) so I told him to kill it freshman year so he could apply to SM program at UMass. Did really well and was accepted into SM program for sophomore year. It is doable but he should be prepared to get at least a 3.5 GPA and focus on sports management prerequistes (especially those that are must haves for admission). Have him talk with advisors in the department and to ask a lot of questions. Also didn’t hurt to be involved with both SM clubs (send him up with a business suit). Have your son really look at the program and how well respected it is in the sports management world and then make a decision. Whatever he chooses will be the right one for him. Also was asked to apply for honors college after freshman year (which he declined to do).

Forgot to mention that he was first deferred and finally accepted during regular round. Didn’t find out until like the 4th of April. Tell your son to take the time and really do the research.
