Ha 1000th post! The amount of time it’s taking is getting ridiculous. Has anyone had any luck with calling?
Got my acceptance in the mail today! I was deferred first and am OOS, my Spire account still says that my application is under review. I called about a week ago to ask when I would finally hear back and they said to give it a couple more weeks

It’s really weird. My friend and I both got our decisons only after 5 weeks of submitting the application on Jan 15, while there are still lot of people here who applied much more eariler and have not heard anything.
Still no decision in the mail. I wish they’d just update spire right as the decision has been made, it would make it much less nerve-wracking to know that you’ll get your decision whenever it’s ready.
I have not heard back, I applied regular back in November, didn’t apply early because I wanted my grades to be the best they could be! This is my top school second to UNH, I’m in state so the tuition at UMass would be preferable! I have been checking Spire everyday for the past month, still says under review. So I just emailed the assistant director for undergraduate admissions (about two days ago) and she said that they’re finishing sending out decisions this week and that I should hear back soon. She said to try to be patient, and that I should hear sometime this week! So hopefully this helps, let’s stay hopeful!!!
@kjhoyt I just emailed the admissions committee also as I won’t be able to visit during any of the “Minuteman for a day” dates. It’s good to know that they’re finishing sending out decisions this week though.
I am an alumnus who loved my time at UMass. Best time of my life. My son still waits to hear. I’m embarrassed for my alma mater. It seems every other school has rendered decisions and UMass is disorganized, some have gone out a while ago, some haven’t, no one in the Admissions Office will pick up the phone – just a recording that ironically tells the caller to please call again “because your call is important to us.” How many top applicants have they lost as a result of their process? Sad.
my son received responses from his other 4 schools over a month ago, including being wait listed by Umass Lowell…i understand Amherst has received 40,000+ apps, but i think there’s a problem with the system if they are scheduling accepted students days at the school before all of the kids who are accepted have been notified…
This was my number 1 choice and now it’s pissing me off to no end. I got into almost all of my schools (waitlisted from Newhouse in Syracuse and rejected from BU) and this is the very last one I’m waiting on. American University even offered me to go on a Leadership Mentor Program in DC for my fall semester. I have no idea when that offer will disappear and this Umass situation is not helping at all. When’s the absolute latest they can send out letters? Any parents who already experienced this last year please reply to me.
Done by the end of the week as in the decisions will be sent or those will be sent next week and they will finish going though the apps this week? getting tired of waiting and the snow is not helping lol

After waiting since the first week of December, D was also waitlisted via email this afternoon. This was the last school she was waiting for. Not sure why they could not have delivered this message sooner. They said they had 42,000 applications for 4650 spaces.
