UMASS Amherst Decisions 2022

This is for everyone to have an open communication in this college applicaition process. we can talk about the application decisions and financial aid. good luck all…

Has anyone heard the timeline for decisions yet?
hope soon

I heard that EA decisions start coming out mid-December. But keep in mind that Umass has a tendency to really drag out their decisions. So some people are going to know in December and some will have to wait months to hear hear back…

uhh…that does not sound good… fingers crossed…

I believe their site said dec 15-jan 15 for EA?

Last year had friends’ children who heard in mid-December, others not til later Jan. That said, the ones who heard early were by far the “better” students on paper - ie higher SATs and GPAs.

I’m a current freshman at Umass and I heard back around December 26th-27th.

D15 heard back a week or so before Christmas.

Does anyone know if they tell you about merit money as part of their decision or does that come later?

uhhh cant take the waiting… !! is the date still Dec 15th or can we expect anytime soon? does anyone know abt last year dates?

My son heard (good news) December 16 last year

Isn’t Umass notorious for dragging the notification process out?

thy r hoping dec 15… so 16 sounds abt right…anyone heard from anyother schools yet?

Compared to the endless wait for UD decisions, I’m 100% okay with at least having a somewhat solid Dec. 15/16 date.

guess no one has heard anything yet?! so when they say dec 15 it IS dec 15… wel lwe wat!!

does anyone know what exact time do they send out decisions? Midnight or something like 2.pm?

I applied Early and haven’t heard back yet.
However, a friend of mine just told me that her friend who applied Undecided just heard back that he was accepted today. He recieved an email from Umass Admissions. He also got into the Honors College. They must be starting to release decisions a little bit earlier than mid-December.

@natws14 When did he apply? Or were his stats really good? It seems like they offer admissions first to those with higher stats and more impressive ecs.

yahooooo!! thats good news…glad they r releasing them slowly…

From looking at past umass decisions threads, it seems like there is always one or two people on here who get notified before the rest. Then starting December 15th, they release acceptance in chunks, with a new group of people receiving decisions every week or so. There is no order of acceptance. No major gets accepted first and it doesn’t go alphabetically. People accepted into honors generally get decisions earlier, but that is not a rule. Also, they drag out decisions and some people have to wait until the end of January to receive their acceptance.

Kind of annoying, wish they would just release all at once
