Accepted at 4:46pm
College of Engineering
In-state
Accepted into the college of engineering in-state, nothing about honors or merit award in the letter Would that information be in the letter?
Seriously? So I can’t frame a letter lol… Idk I just expected them to send like a welcome letter or something about the school…
@senioritisls My son is in state, applied to College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Communication/Journalism major. We haven’t heard a thing. Haven’t seen anyone on this board who has yet (for College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.) So I “suppose” that’s a good thing??. It would be great to hear something though. I hate the waiting. Congratulations to those who were accepted so far!
Got accepted into engineering!! but i don’t see anything about CHC or merit.
Stats:
SAT: 1350
GPA: 4.8 Weighted. Only took honors classes and APs. only non honors classes were required.
6 APs, including 4 taken senior year.
4 on AP Lang Exam, 5 on AP World Exam
Taking AP Biology, AP Literature, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics this year
Pianist and Singer
@leapyearG It would be at the bottom of the email… Since you’re in state, they don’t really give scholarships and tend to reserve money for out of state students. Congratulations though!
@edw611 The information was at the bottom of the letter. Letter was 2 pages long if that helps.
Accepted OOS to the college of engineering
1360 SAT (720 math)
96.69 GPA
Multiple honors and AP courses
Chancellors scholarship
Congratulations for all accepted and good luck for our friends who are still waiting. After the longggg wait, got accepted to engineering, CHC and Dean’s award. Did not expect but very happy
I applied to the Social Thought and Political Economy in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. I’m OOS and haven’t heard back yet. I called the admissions office and they said all decisions will be out by the end of next week.
Hope to see your DD there… if she chooses UMass.
Thanks for all the information. My letter was only 1 page so no merit no honors … , very surprised did not get into Honors program. with no merit makes the price of going there the same as WPI with the merit scholarship offered. Collage of Engineering accepted. Stats - 4.7 GPA w 3.98 uw, 34 ACT, many AP classes
Got accepted to engineering today, no CHC or merit aid… I’m pretty disappointed. I know merit aid is uncommon for in-state students, but I feel I am more than qualified for the honors college… oh well. I’ve already gotten a full ride to a comparable private school, but UMass was initially my first choice. With no CHC I’m definitely ruling it out.
SAT: 1570
ACT: 35
GPA (UW): 4.00
GPA (W): 4.75
Class rank: 1/209
8 APs, all 5’s on the tests I have taken so far
Strong ECs w/leadership
I’m really not sure how I didn’t make the cut for CHC, but I know this has happened to other in-state students this year as well. Their loss.
Accepted into Engineering today with Chancellor’s Awards 14,000 per year. no CHC
@figrsk8er530 Those are really your stats? I know schools use “holistic” approaches for admission, but not quite sure why any college (including CHC) could turn you down. Hey, you don’t have any manslaughter convictions or anything on your record too, do you? Ehh…joking, still, hard to see what they did NOT like. Bad essay?!? Nahh.
Anyone know what it means when it says admitted “undecided -engineering track?”
Congratulations to everyone and good luck to those still waiting.
D accepted in Engineering (ACT 33, SAT 1480, 3.9 UW, 4.63 W, 9 AP classes, plenty of ECs). No Merit, No Honors so UMass Amherst is basically going to cost the same as WPI with the merit package they offered. Both are ranked the same nationally as engineer schools so it’s really going to boil down to which environment is a better fit for my D.
coptermom are you instate or OOS?
@CopterMom33 same here, so disappointing
Accepted into the College of Engineering, no merit scholarship or honors
3.3W GPA
SAT - 1370 (Math 700, Evidence-Based Reading & Writing 670)
Multiple STEM extracurriculars
8APs
Class rank: 154 of 340
