UMASS Amherst Decisions 2022

My D hasn’t heard anything yet. Instate Bio major. 1270 SAT, 3.5 UW GPA, lots of Honors and AP classes. Several years in class government, multiply volunteer groups. Hope we hear soon. Status page on UMass website still just says thank you for applying.

friend accepted with 3.3 gpa 1160 sat
I haven’t heard back yet with 3.5gpa 1200 sat

the college process is strange.

My daughter has 4.4gpa, 1470sat, but still didn’t get response for early action for bio. It doesn’t make any sense. Instate.

@user11z What is your friend’s major? And what is your major?

@Noah333 I’m also political science and haven’t heard anything yet

@noah333 @bg2018 LOL I am also political science but in state, hope we all get in.

anyone hear for journalism or communications?

@Noah333 @bg2018 @Joezzzzz I applied early action as a political science major and heard back on Dec. 15 I’m not sure if that helps anyone still wondering about their decisions. All the best guys!!!

Wouldn’t stress too much if you haven’t heard yet. Not much rhyme or reason to acceptance notification. You’ll likely get in if you have 1200 + SAT and mid 3 GPA and some get accepted with less. CHCprocess is tougher to figure out. My daughter and a couple of friends were in top 4% of class and mid 1400s in SAT, with good ECs but no honors college offer.

Has there been any decisions the past few days?

@truetotalk My son applied for journalism Oct 8, in-state. Still haven’t heard a thing.

No news is not bad news.

They have started focusing on their twitter and facebook on the regular decision dates - wish they would update those young adults who took the initiative and applied EA and still have not heard yet! Can’t find any notification dates on their admission website either - only admission deadline for applying!

If I recall correctly, they say decisions will be made by the end of January, so they’re probably still rolling them out.

@YoungOne4 - I have heard by Jan 15th as well, yes. I would just appreciate (as would most I think!) them updating their twitter feed or Admissions FB page (that’s what it is for, right) - how about “EA applicants should hope to hear by January 31st”. I don’t mean to come across as being sarcastic - just looking for communication. I don’t want to bother them with a phone call as I have heard that they have gotten a record number of applications - so I am trying to be courteous of their time.

Don’t worry you will get the chance to return the favor in April when you are trying to decide what your best options are and they are calling looking for a deposit.

I’m an in-state sociology applicant and still haven’t heard back yet. Have they notified other people for sociology yet or have I only not heard back because that’s one of the majors they release later on?

Got denied today! This school was a reach for me so I’m not to surprised, GPA 3.0 SAT 1050 went for psychology in state.

Deferred to regular decision
