Congrats! My son applied just a day before the regular deadline and that might be the reason he didn’t get honors. He has full ride at UT Dallas with honors as NMF. It’s difficult to make a decision.
Congratulations to your son! Quite an accomplishment for sure. In this tough admissions cycle, we are thankful my son will have some great options to choose from after initial disappointments. Best wishes to your son during the rest of this process!
Thank you and best wishes to your son too! Same here, we also saw few disappointments. A lot of decisions are yet to come.
Is that right that honor college students will automatically get some amount of scholarships?
Not surprising, his stat is pretty good. 15 APs. How did he do that? Each year takes 5 APs ?
Congratulations, full ride, free of tuition
I know that it sounds insane, but he is a pretty naturally gifted kid with an amazing memory (ie photographic). He took one freshman year, four sophomore year, five junior year and five senior year. No extra summer courses for extra classes than required. He’s very strong stem wise which made it easy for him to get both AP Calc courses, AP statistics, AP physics one, and AP physics C all in. Having said that, writing a paper or reading a book is pure torture to him!
yes, all free, National Merit Package at UT Dallas is pretty good.
Wow, that is really cool!
Did anyone receive their financial package? I got my acceptance letter more than 3 weeks ago, but I still didn’t see anything about the financial package.
We decided to send our son to UMass Amherst for CS. We had a full ride from UT Dallas with honors college but still our decision was in favor of UMass. We thought that we have the ability to pay so lets go for the best.
Thats wonderful…its a great school!! Congratulations!
I was a guest speaker for one of their student investment funds in the Isenberg School of Management last month. There were some bright CS students who were members of the fund who are selected through a very competitive process. Your son will have great opportunities within the CS department and the University in general.
