Anyone know when Honors college stuff will be sent out??
I emailed the Senior Associate Director of the Undergraduate Admissions on 12/15 and he replied, “We will likely start releasing those decisions next week and continue into early January.”
what are the required stats for the Honors college?
Also does UMass give more weight to GPA or SAT score?
I vaguely remember from the tour that they end out invitations to the top 10% of their applicants. And I’m not sure about the GPA or SAT.
Not sure how they selected Honors students. My first cousin just got accepted to UMass last week. Liberal Arts major, 3.84 GPA UW from a rigorous NE private school, 34 ACT, 7 AP plus multi variable Math. No Honors! Very surprised!
same i didn’t get in to the honors college.
35 ACT, 1540 SAT, NMSF, pretty good EC’s
3.94 UW and 4.65 W from a good public MA school
9 AP’s and multivariable calc/lin alg at top uni nearby
CS major
very surprised; one of my friends who has some similar EC’s but lower stats got in to CHC with 2k scholarship. idk what’s up
@chowdownmon are you oos?
nvm. I got in with a 4.77
I’m instate for tuition but bc I’m not a permanent resident, I think I’m considered international for admissions.
that’s great. Someone in my school got in (permanent resident) with a GPA a full 0.3 points below mine. I’m in the top 5 for sure.
Yeah it seems very random.
My daughter got in last year 1450 new SAT 3.85 UW, 8 ap’s, but not in top 10% of her high school class, but top 1% for class rigor. Massachusetts public high school. She floated in and out of top 10%, so we were surprised she got in, but she decided to attend another school who gave her a big Merit scholarship. I too am surprised for both chowdownmon and thespian18’s cousin. In her case, the course rigor, she took the hardest classes for any female at our high school, seemed to make up for her lower class rank.
