UMass-Amherst questions... please help me!!!! :(

Hi, I am an international student from South Korea, who has been accepted to UMass-Amherst with a major of Undeclared.
So, here are my questions now.

1.How do you guys think about UMass-Amherst?

  1. Please advice the most ideal dormitory site for me! I want to study Hotel management in the future, and I also want active and vibrant atmosphere!!

Thanks for your help!!!

Join the undeclared rap for wanabees business majors in southwest. You will be with other students looking to get into Isenberg and southwest is very active. Plus you will have classes right in southwest to boot. Its also the closest dorms to Isenberg. I am a parent so I can’t tell you what I think about UMass but my son loves it. He was also in the rap that I mentioned this year and thought the location was ideal (Thoreau Hall in Southwest). Good luck

Be aware that it can be very difficult to transfer into Isenberg in general and that certain programs within Isenberg are also difficult to get into so there is no guarantee that you will be able to move from undeclared into the hospitality program. At a minimum you have to take several specific predictor classes and do well to even be considered for an on campus transfer.

Also - the RAP program is being restructured. Not all the information is posted yet but this shows the programs by location. Undeclared majors are being assigned to exploratory tracks related to their interests although there are some RAPs open to all students regardless of majors

@JADKJOFE - What type of person are you? Each dorm is different. Do you want a quiet dorm? A good quiet dorm area is called “northeast”. (“Orchard Hill” is also good/quiet) Otherwise, “central” is a bit busier and less quiet.
